As globalization took hold in the 20th century, cultural diffusion occurred at speeds unheard of prior to this phenomenon. Hollywood produced movies freighted with American cultural values and sent them all over the world (Americanization). India has done the same thing with its Bollywood films. Also music has found its way throughout the world in forms like reggae and K-Pop.
New technologies like social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, etc) have created the occasion for individual expression and cultural diffusion on a worldwide scale..
