In this video Heimler walks you through Unit 7 Topic 5 (7.5) of AP World History.

Though many realities changed after the end of World War I, imperialism remained. Many colonial soldiers fought in the war for their parent countries with the hopes that such sacrifice would initiate a process of decolonization. When this did not occur, independence movements sprang up throughout the colonial world.

In India, Gandhi led the people to resist the British through acts of civil disobedience like the homespun movement. In Korea, millions of people took the streets in the March 1st Movement. In China, similar protests took the form of the May 4th Movement.

Many of the movements gathered steam, but ultimately the process of decolonization would not come fully to fruition until after the Second World War.
