The Ming Dynasty (1368-1644)

The Ming Dynasty was the last Han Chinese dynasty of Imperial China. The Ming, under the first Emperor Hongwu, came to power with the decline and fall of the Mongol Yuan Dynasty. The Ming era is often considered the peak of Chinese government efficiency. It was also during the Ming reign that the famous “Treasure Fleet” of Admiral Zheng He made its epic voyage. The Ming Dynasty declined, fell into turmoil and was finally overthrown by the Manchu Qing Dynasty that would see the Chinese Empire to its end.
